The right qualifications

We’ve all heard the saying – you always get what you pay for. And whilst sometimes it’s great to nab a bargain, there are certain services and items that are best not decided upon based on their price. Details »

Our snags bring all the mechanics to the yard, and they’re like, we’ll have 20 more.

And with good reason too. Who would have thought an ad agency would be the ones to produce the best menu Southbank had to offer? Details »

I love draws just the way they are

Let’s travel back to that last Saturday of September, 2010.

The final siren has sounded, the Magpies and Saints inseparable on the scoreboard. Fans in disbelief, players gutted, no one quite knowing what to do or how to react. Then everyone finally remembers the “new ruling” the AFL introduced to decide the winner. Details »

So an Irishman, a Kiwi and an Aussie ran a race…

Well something along those lines anyway.

A couple of Sundays ago our resident Irishman, Marty “born to run” Kane, our Kiwi ambassador, Gen “Fitness Freak” Hole and myself (the lone Aussie) completed the gruelling 14.38km Run for the Kids. Details »

We’re really going places

If you’re wondering why the name Hocking sounds familiar when you think of real estate, it’s because it should. And that’s because the name is synonymous with experience and quality of service. The name has been in the game for a long time. The name is Greg Hocking. Details »

Happy Birthday to CUBED – 6 years young or 6 years old?

Yesterday we celebrated our 6th birthday…so in human terms we’d be cute, probably have freckles and no front teeth…but as a business we’re far more established, aren’t we?  Details »

We’re under construction

There will be some hustlin’ and bustlin’ happening this week as we’re having a spring clean and rearranging some furniture.

A lot of furniture actually.

So apologies to our neighbours, we’ll post some photos of our spanking new office soon.

Good design? Or design good? That is the question.

At University my lecturers taught me how design influences the way people feel about brands and how design persuades purchase making decisions. Good design was not just about looking good, but it also helped companies perceived in a certain way and even sell more stuff. Cool – I thought. Design is quite powerful. Details »

Taylor’d made

We’re proud of our stationery here at CUBED.

The personalised messages usually get a reaction from our clients, but it’s the forme cutting, matt laminating, spot gloss UV and silver spot colour that got a reaction from the printing industry.

Thanks to our printers, Taylor’d Press, our letterhead, with comps and business cards were entered into PICA (the Printing Industries Craftmanship Award), picking up a silver award in the stationery category.

Ending on a high

2010 was the year CUBED turned 5. It was also, it seems, the year we got noticed on an international level. Or rather, that our work did.

We’ve always prided ourselves on creating effective, memorable work for our clients, and this year the award show judges appeared to agree. Just last week we found out that CUBED made finalist twice at the John Caples International Awards –  for our ADMA oats pack and our AMP glove mailer.

Hands on branding

Around 18 months ago, CUBED rebranded the University of Ballarat. It was a big job and it got big results, not only with a 13% increase in new enrolments but also being recognised with an AMI award. Which was nice.

Not wanting to rest on our laurels, our next challenge was to bring the UB Tec brand under the University of Ballarat umbrella while retaining its individuality. Details »
